Course Aerodynamics I of SAA was approved as a municipal key course in Shanghai universities

Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission announced the list of approved municipal key courses in Shanghai universities in 2022, and  Aerodynamics I (course leader: Chen Fang) of the school of Aeronautics and Astronautics was approved as a key course.

Aerodynamics I, based on fluid mechanics and with the application background of aircraft design and other disciplines, is a compulsory professional basic course for undergraduates majoring in aerospace engineering. It is also a professional basic course after advanced mathematics, theoretical mechanics and material mechanics. It is responsible by teachers Chen Fang, Wang Fuxin, Tian Wei and Xu Hui. Before learning the course, junior undergraduates can learn the historical background of aerospace and basic knowledge of mechanics by studying the previous courses, such as Flying over the future: Aerodynamics and human flight; After the course, professional courses such as Aerodynamics II, Viscous fluid mechanics and Computational fluid mechanics will continue to be connected, and practical courses such as Aerodynamics experimental design and test and Virtual simulation experiment of reentry and return control of reusable launch vehicle RLV will be combined to form three teaching links: theoretical basis, experimental teaching and practical innovation, which not only ensures the progressiveness of experimental teaching, but also can also form a high-quality aerospace characteristic curriculum system with other courses. In the course teaching process, we should pay attention to ideological and political education and engineering literacy education, cultivate the foundation of aerospace majors, cultivate students' feelings of home and country and engineering literacy, exercise their innovative and practical ability, and realize the support of a series of courses and talent training. The course was funded by the online course construction project of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020.

Carry out a mixed online and offline teaching mode

Establish a collaborative organization and management mechanism of "supervision, teaching and learning"

In order to ensure the effect of online learning, a collaborative organization and management mechanism of "supervision, teaching and learning" for the new teaching mode is carried out, and a closed-loop teaching quality monitoring system of "supervision, teaching and learning" is constructed, which promotes the continuous improvement of teaching quality.

 

Make use of video lessons

Promote micro-lecture teaching mode

The course has carried out the construction of micro courses in the form of video, organized the teaching content in a modular way, designed short video sets around knowledge points, each of which is 10-15 minutes, taught the course content to students at home and abroad through the teaching form of micro course teaching video, strengthened the cultivation of students' self-study ability after class, and achieved the sharing of excellent teaching results, improved the learning effect of complementing each other in class and after class, and stimulated students' interest in learning.

 

Combined with major national needs

Strengthen the ideological and political construction of courses

As one of the seven key construction courses of the ideological and political pilot college of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the teaching team carefully excavates the ideological and political elements in the courses, constantly organizes and improves the syllabus, strengthens the construction of teachers' team, closely combines the aerospace spirit and national strategic needs, realizes the teaching mode of combining theoretical teaching and ideological and political construction, and provides sufficient guarantee for the construction and implementation of the education system of aerospace engineering major of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

 

Based on the characteristics of parallel teaching

Improve and consolidate the teaching mode

According to the characteristics of Chinese and Russian students who teach in mixed classes, the teaching team has jointly agreed on an English Syllabus for the course in order to open a parallel class. According to the personalized needs of regular classes and Mozambique flights, a differentiated teaching mode based on information technology and network teaching is developed. In the process of parallel class teaching, the heuristic teaching mode is emphasized, which is gradual and iterative. For students with different language backgrounds and classes, the needs of students and teaching characteristics are fully considered, and the teaching mode is improved.

Matching international teaching standards

Establish an all-English teaching system

The syllabus, courseware, lesson plans and reference books used in the course are all in English. A full English course website is established simultaneously, and a diversified and reasonable course assessment method is established. This course has been involved in the construction of professional certification of the college since 2017. It continues to sort out materials and analyze sustainable improvement in accordance with the requirements of professional certification. The teaching courseware of the course is compiled with the English textbook fundamentals of aerodynamics as the main teaching material, supplemented by appropriate practical links. The whole English teaching process is based on the teaching requirements of the course, and the production of teaching courseware fully meets the relevant standards, Consistent with the organization and implementation of curriculum teaching.

The college will effectively strengthen the management of the project approved curriculum construction according to the project approval and construction planning tasks, take the construction of key courses as the starting point, comprehensively implement the fundamental task of Building Morality and cultivating people, promote classroom teaching reform, and comprehensively improve the quality of talent training.
